hotel Rodostamo is a typical case of which an inclined elevator is crucial.
The hotel.
Hotel Rodostamo is a 5-star hotel that offers luxurious bungalows and rooms. It is located in the beautiful bay of Kommenos in Corfu. The visitor can find every confort that one may expect from a big summer resort: Spa, pools, gardens, beaches, restaurants and bars.
However, the most important of all is the easy access, without much walking, to the hotel areas that is made possible due to the external inclined elevator that we have installed.
How did the inclined elevator imporved accessibility.
Long distances.
The elevator is built on a green hill. However, the main building is built on the foothill, while the rooms are built on top of the hill. Such a distance to walk would have been tiring and it would take a lot of time.
The solution of the inclined elevator.
In this case the external inclined elevator(teleferic) connects the top of the hill with the main facilities of the hotel. This way it crosses a long route that otherwise should have been climbed through stairs. Access to the facilities are provided by “stations” from which the customer can take off.
People with disabilities.
For people with disabiliites, climbing through stairs would be a huge problem, and would otherwise discourage them from using the hotel. However the inclined elevator provides them an easy solution to their needs.
Comfortable route.
The hotel clients can now avoid the long staircase and can access quiclky the facilities of the hotel.
In the following video you can see how the teleferic operates. Its operation remains silent and doesn’t disturb the guests of the of the hotel. It should be noticed that the chamber of the elevator could have bigger dimensions and be designed based on your specific needs.
